Global Talent Visa
The Global Talent Visa is for people aged 18 or over in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, medicine, digital technology, or arts and culture who can show they have exceptional talent or exceptional promise.
The Global Talent Visa replaced the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa in February 2020 to attract exceptionally talented people to live and work in the UK.
This visa has endless amounts of benefits such as, the flexibility of working in the UK; fast track for settlement; no sponsorship required; no requirement to have a confirmed job offer.

- Artificial intelligence

- Fashion design
- Architecture
- Film and television – including animation, post-production, and visual effects
- Combined arts, dance, literature, music, theatre, or visual arts

How do I qualify?
To qualify for a Global Talent Visa, you must first be endorsed by a designated competent body, unless you have won a prestigious award as set out in Appendix Global Talent: Prestigious Prizes of the Immigration Rules.

You can live and work in the UK for up to 5 years at a time. There is no limit on how long you can stay in total, however, you must renew your visa before it expires or apply for settlement, if you are eligible to do so. Applicants endorsed under the exceptional talent criteria can apply for settlement after 3 years, and applicants endorsed under the exceptional promise criteria can apply for settlement after 5 years.
How do I apply?
You must apply online on the www.gov.uk website.
How much does it cost?
The fee for the application is broken down into two stages:
It costs £623 to apply.
If you’re applying based on an endorsement, you’ll pay the £623 in two parts:
- £456 when you apply for the endorsement
- £167 when you apply for the visa itself
If you’re applying based on an eligible award, you’ll pay the full £623 when you apply for the visa.
If you’re including your partner or children in your application, they’ll each need to pay £623.
All applicants will need to pay the immigration health surcharge, which is currently set at £624 per annum for adults aged 18 and over, and £470 per annum for applicants 17 and under.
