Transit Visitor Visa
When simply transiting in the UK, there are two types of visas that can be applied for:
Direct Airside Transit Visa
This visa is for visa nationals who will be passing through a UK airport, but will not pass though UK border control. You must provide evidence that confirms you have permission to enter the country you will be travelling to from the UK when you apply for the visa.
Visitor in Transit Visa
This visa is for persons who will be changing flights in the UK on their way to another country, but will pass through UK border control. You are not allowed to spend more than 48 hours in the UK on this visa. You must also provide evidence that confirms you have permission to enter the country you will be travelling to from the UK when you apply for the visa.
