Regaining Settled Status Through the Returning Resident Route

We were approached by a client seeking assistance with a spouse visa application to return to the UK with their British partner. The client had previously lived in the UK from 2004 to 2011, during which time they were granted Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). They later relocated to the United States with their spouse and had remained there for over 15 years.

This meant the client avoided paying the Immigration Health Surcharge, resulting in a saving of over £5,000, as well as approximately £7,000 in cumulative visa fees associated with entry clearance, further leave to remain, and a subsequent ILR application.
